1) Friends clears last hurdle so it can begin Park clean-up projects
Friends received from Mr. Tom Mulroy, Pensacola's risk manager, a wavier form for volunteers to sign prior to working on the CMPA site. Friends Board Members Kenneth E. Lamb and Glenn C. Obert, and volunteer Audra Carter, met with Mr. Ed Spears Thursday, June 12 to receive instructions from Mr. Spears on the next steps required to begin work.
Friends anticipates that a 2 - 4 week timeframe to start completing the project list is a realistic projection.
2) Newsletter reads showing thousands want their CMP!
The graph to the right shows the number of opened newsletters by issue. Below are the web site hits by month for 2008.
3) Three signs in design for facing Main Street
You will find attached the first of three signs to go up facing Main Street. Friends anticipates it will be constructed and posted within a 2-week timeframe.
4) Downtown "We Want Our CMP!" window campaign to begin within 3-week timeframe
Friends has received bids to print window signs to be placed in downtown businesses and posted on construction projects downtown. Friends anticipates they will begin going up within a 3-week timeframe.
5) E-PAD for Public Officials? email program for the CMPA passed all testing, fully functional
Friends is pleased to report that the E-PAD for Public Officials? program donated pro bono by Webfoot Enterprises owner Glenn C. Obert, is fully functional. Training for those CMPA members who requested it, and for Mr. Spears as Legal Custodian, is completed.
Mr. Spears is contacting the firm formerly handing the email for the CMPA to authorize Mr. Obert to redirect any remaining emails sent to the former address to the Board's new ComunityMaritimePark.com email address, and to retrieve all emails still on the former email service provider's servers. This will permanently close out the former email system.
