Friends of the Community Maritime Park, Inc. is pleased to announce our first sponsored ad on the Friends' web site. Our thanks to the private donor who brings the United Way campaign to every page of the Friends site! Every month more than 80,000 hits arrive at the Friends web site.

In addition to the milestone of progress the United Way ad represents, Friends incorporated its recently released logo into the Friends' web site design. We thank Micah Baldwin of MBaldwin Photography for her pro bono contribution. Her firm is the Official Photographer for Friends of the Community Maritime Park, Inc.

The makeover is complete with a clear, easy to navigate style created by Glenn C. Obert, chair of the Friends Board of Trustees and owner of Webfoot Enterprises. We thank him for his selfless dedication to helping make the Community Maritime Park dream come true!

Here are the exciting highlights:

Images: Who do you know in our vast, growing collection of free-style photos taken at several park-oriented events? Click on Images and see for yourself! There's are lots of great shots including those of Quint and Rishy Studer at the Feb. 4, 2008 announcement of a $2.25-million donation to the Maritime Museum.

And check out all those who turned out for the Jan. 25, 2008, gathering to announce a $1-million contribution by the Lamar and Switzer families to the museum! In addition to the HUGE CROWD, you'll see shots of so many people attending including P.C. Wu, Dr Jimmy Jones, Rick Outzen, Kevin Doyle, Nancy Fetterman, Dr. John Cavanaugh, Ellis Bullock and Mort O'Sullivan, Jamie Page, Katie White, Mayor John Fogg, Glenn C. Obert and Judge Lacey Collier, Tom Bonfield and Dick Baker.

For a fantastic collection of the art prepared by Miller Caldwell's firm to illustrate the ideas we want to convey to the Master Developers, be sure to go through the art collection in the Sept. 26, 2007 presentation made to the non-profit Community Maritime Park Associates Board of Trustees.

Audio/Video : This collection features streaming audio and video of park supporters. Begin your journey with the Oct. 25, 2007 broadcast of the news-interview program "Your Turn" airing on WEBY AM-1330, Northwest Florida's Talk Radio. Listen as Mort O'Sullivan, Ed Spears, and Charlotte Brown discuss the park, its progress, and why it is a "First Priority" for our community. It is posted in five 9-minute segments (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ).

Earlier that day, Mort O'Sullivan appeared on NewsRadio 1620 to talk about the park. Listen to it and learn even more about why we need the CMP!

On Feb. 4, Quint Studer delivered a powerful, stirring call to action for our community. You'll want to watch this memorable video of Quint talking about the late Adm. Fetterman on the occasion of a $2.25-million donation to the Maritime Museum fund.

Publications: Reading is believing, and believe us, you need to read this collection of articles from the Pensacola News Journal. We start with a pictorial layout of the park, and examples of the different ways the multi-use stadium can accommodate concerts, soccer, football, and baseball events.

Second on the list is a Pensacola News Journal Viewpoint by Pensacola resident Charlotte Brown. She recalls her journey from curious to highly supportive as she learned more and more about the park and the incredible number of benefits it will offer
generation after generation of Pensacola Bay Area residents and their families. She closes with the stirring cry, "Rise up Pensacola! You're destined for greatness!"

Our third entry is another Pensacola News Journal Viewpoint, this one by Miller Caldwell, overseer of the architectural aspects of the park. He restates the driving force behind the park: "the non-profit CMPA (Community Maritime Park Associates) is resolute in its determination to make the park an international showpiece - a point of pride for the entire Pensacola Bay Area family of residents."

You can see for yourself the Friends' web site is chock full of the latest news, rock-solid documentation, and explodes with the excitement and energy this historic undertaking is in all its many aspects.
